Concept: ‘Boundaries’

A boundary exists between oneself and unrelated person.

A boundary exists between reality and memory.

A boundary exists between embodiment and abstract.

My concept of ‘Boundaries’ does not mean the division or opposition. I’d like to express these notions as coming and going, mixing with them and penetrating each other. I do not use a specific model for the figures in my paintings; I treat the figures as unrelated persons. I imagine them as different persons who are outside, but it also means the mirroring image which consists of my thoughts. I‘m interested in multi-layered consciousness; landscapes, abstract shapes, the figure’s costume and gesture mean the figure’s past, thinking, reality and the sign of future.

I try to make boundaries between the abstract and embodiment, reality and memory, oneself and other people in oil or acrylic paintings and drawings.
